Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This policy explains what information MyFinanceBandhu collects when you visit this website, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to meet our obligations under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Who is responsible for your data

MyFinanceBandhu is operated by Minoo Verma, an individual based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Under the DPDP Act this makes him the Data Fiduciary for any personal data collected through this website.

What we collect

We do not ask you to register, and we do not run accounts. You can read everything on this site without giving us any personal information.

We do collect the following automatically:

  • Website analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which articles they read, and how they arrived. This records things like the pages you view, the time of your visit, the approximate region you are in, your browser and device type, and the website that referred you.
  • IP address, in shortened form. We have enabled IP anonymisation in Google Analytics, which means your IP address is truncated before it is stored. We do not have access to your full IP address through analytics.
  • Technical logs. Our hosting provider records standard server information needed to deliver and secure the site.

If you email us, we hold your email address and whatever you choose to write, for as long as needed to deal with your message.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to recognise repeat visits. Our hosting platform may set cookies necessary for the site to function. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site will still work, though our visitor counts will be less accurate.

Why we collect it

Only to understand which articles readers find useful, so we can publish better ones, and to keep the site running and secure. We do not build profiles of individual readers and we do not use this information to target advertising at you.

Who else sees it

  • Google, as the provider of Google Analytics
  • Automattic, which operates WordPress.com, our hosting platform

Both are located outside India, so analytics and hosting data is processed abroad. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

How long we keep it

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics settings, currently a maximum of 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data of yours we hold and what we have done with it
  • ask us to correct or complete inaccurate data
  • ask us to erase your data, where we are not required to keep it
  • withdraw any consent you have given, as easily as you gave it
  • nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated
  • raise a grievance with us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if we do not resolve it

To exercise any of these, write to myfinancebandhu@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable period and in any case within the time the law requires.

Grievances

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, write to myfinancebandhu@gmail.com with “Grievance” in the subject line. If we do not resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child’s data has reached us, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if what we collect changes — for example, if we add a newsletter or an enquiry form. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
