Shares of Zen Technologies rose 8.67% to Rs 1,726 in Monday’s trading after the defence technology firm posted a strong set of results for the September 2026 quarter. Consolidated net profit grew 51% from a year earlier, while revenue from operations rose almost 98%.
Profit and revenue
Consolidated net profit for Q2FY27 came in at Rs 90 crore, compared with Rs 59 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations stood at Rs 345 crore, against Rs 174 crore a year earlier.
Order book
The company received fresh orders worth Rs 481.81 crore during the quarter. This lifted its consolidated order book to Rs 1,375.70 crore as of September 30, 2026.
Zen Technologies said the growing order book points to steady demand across its product categories. Faster execution, it added, is helping turn orders into revenue more quickly.
Policy support
The company also pointed to a favourable domestic procurement climate. The Defence Acquisition Council recently gave Acceptance of Necessity to several capital acquisition proposals. Around 82% of them are earmarked for purchase from the domestic defence industry, and they include categories where Zen Technologies already sells products.
With the government continuing to push for indigenisation in defence buying, the company’s ownership of its core technologies could strengthen its position in the domestic market.
What the management said
Ashok Atluri, Chairman and Managing Director of Zen Technologies, said the company posted its highest-ever consolidated quarterly revenue of Rs 345.13 crore, a rise of 98.8% year-on-year. The operational EBITDA margin was 38.2%.
Atluri said the company has begun delivering orders won last year under the Fast Track Procurement route, and is doing so ahead of the contractual deadlines. According to him, owning its core technology lets the company change its products quickly when the Army’s requirements shift, without having to rely on foreign licensors.
He added that this ability to respond faster, together with the government’s growing focus on indigenisation, puts the company in a good position to chase new opportunities in the domestic defence sector.
Share price and shareholding
The stock has gained 26% over the past year and around 138% over three years. Its market capitalisation is Rs 14,341 crore, and its 52-week high is Rs 2,043.
Data from Trendlyne shows the stock is trading above seven of its eight simple moving averages.
Institutional investors added to their holdings during the September 2026 quarter. Foreign institutional investors raised their stake from 6.47% to 6.60%, while mutual funds increased theirs from 7.55% to 7.71%.
