Paras Healthcare Ltd reported a profit after tax of Rs 40.35 crore for the September quarter on Thursday, its first set of results since listing. Higher revenue drove the improvement.
In the same period a year earlier, the hospital chain had booked a net profit of Rs 12.38 crore, according to a filing with the exchanges.
The company closed its initial public offering on October 23. Its shares started trading on both the BSE and NSE on October 28.
Revenue from operations for the second quarter of FY27 came in at Rs 510.89 crore. Expenses for the quarter stood at Rs 463.12 crore.
The company also flagged that the figures for the quarter ended September 30 are balancing figures. They are derived from special purpose consolidated audited interim financial statements for the three months ended June 30. These numbers have not been subject to a limited review or audit.
Managing Director Dharminder Kumar Nagar called the quarter an important milestone, as it marked the company’s first results as a listed entity. He said Rs 375 crore of the Rs 500 crore raised through the IPO has been used to repay part of the company’s borrowings. That, he said, has made the balance sheet significantly stronger.
Looking ahead, Nagar said the company will keep building its speciality programmes in oncology, cardiac, neuro and renal sciences. It also plans to invest in advanced clinical technology and expand its presence in the under-served markets of North India.
On the BSE, the company’s shares closed 2.99 per cent higher at Rs 774.35 apiece.
