Zerodha Fund House Launches ETF Tracking India’s Top 10 Banks

Zerodha Fund House has launched a new exchange-traded fund for investors who want focused exposure to India’s banking sector. The fund is called the BSE Top 10 Banks ETF, and it tracks the country’s largest listed banks.

The new fund offer, known as an NFO, opened on October 12 and runs until October 26, 2026. Investors who want to get in at the launch stage therefore have a limited window to do so.

The minimum investment is Rs 1,000, which keeps the entry point low for people who want to put in a small amount. An ETF trades on the stock exchange like a share, but it holds a basket of securities. In this case, the basket is made up of the biggest banks listed in India.

By concentrating on the largest lenders, the fund gives investors a single product through which to hold the banking sector’s leading names, instead of choosing and buying each bank separately. The focus is narrow by design: the ETF covers banking only, rather than spreading money across different industries. That means its performance will depend on how the largest banks fare.

The launch adds to the range of products available from Zerodha Fund House for investors who prefer to track an index rather than pick individual stocks. The BSE Top 10 Banks ETF is aimed at those who want a straightforward way to follow India’s major banks.

With the offer period closing on October 26, investors interested in the fund will need to act before that date if they wish to take part in the NFO. As with any fund concentrated in one sector, buyers should consider how much of their overall portfolio they want tied to banking.
