Ace investor Ashish Kacholia made a series of changes to his holdings during the second quarter of FY27, buying into new companies while reducing his exposure to many existing ones.
His portfolio is worth about Rs 3,000 crore. Over the quarter, he added three stocks, raised his stakes in two companies and cut his holdings in 13 others.
The three new additions are ESDS Software Solutions, Ardee Industries and Credent Connect N Care. These are fresh positions that were not part of his disclosed holdings before.
On the selling side, the trimming was widespread. Thirteen companies in the portfolio saw a lower Kacholia stake by the end of the quarter. The scale of the pruning suggests he was actively rebalancing rather than making a handful of isolated moves.
Two companies also saw their stakes go up, though the three new entries were the most notable buying activity of the period.
Two names may have dropped out of the portfolio altogether: Fineotex Chemicals and Brand Concepts. The wording matters here, as the change points to a possible full exit rather than a confirmed one.
Kacholia is closely followed by retail investors, many of whom track his quarterly shareholding disclosures for clues about where he sees opportunity. Changes like these, covering new entries, higher stakes, partial sales and possible exits, give a snapshot of how he repositioned his money during the July-to-September period.
The quarter’s activity shows a mix of conviction and caution. Fresh bets on ESDS Software Solutions, Ardee Industries and Credent Connect N Care show where he chose to deploy capital, while the trimming across 13 companies and the possible exits from Fineotex Chemicals and Brand Concepts show where he chose to take money off the table.
Investors reading the data should remember that shareholding disclosures only show positions at the end of a quarter and do not reveal the timing or price of individual trades.
